Vocabulary with Examples



  • Carry out = to do or complete a task, plan, or order

    Example: We need to carry out a full market analysis before launching the product.

  • Set up = to start or establish a company, meeting, or system

    Example: They set up a new branch in Singapore last year.

  • Take over = to take control of a company or project

    Example: The multinational company took over several smaller competitors.

  • Bring forward = to move a meeting or event to an earlier date

    Example: We had to bring the product launch forward by two weeks.

  • Look into = to investigate or research something

    Example: The manager promised to look into the customer complaints.

  • Come up with = to think of an idea or solution

    Example: Our team came up with a brilliant marketing campaign.

  • Follow up = to check or continue something later

    Example: Please follow up with the client next week about the contract.

  • Draw up = to prepare a document or plan

    Example: The lawyers are drawing up the partnership agreement.

  • Phase out = to gradually stop using something

    Example: The company decided to phase out its old product line.

  • Team up with = to work together with someone

    Example: We teamed up with a local distributor to enter the Asian market.

  • Run out of = to have no more of something left

    Example: We have run out of stock due to high demand.

  • Break even = to make neither profit nor loss

    Example: The start-up is expected to break even within 18 months.

  • Roll out = to launch or introduce something new

    Example: The company will roll out the new software in July.

  • Write off = to cancel a debt or accept a loss

    Example: They had to write off a large amount due to bad debts.

  • Scale up = to increase the size or production of a business
